When will you die?
Have you ever sat down and wondered how long you have left to live? Interestingly that depends not only on your gender but on your race as well. The following information was published in the National Vital Statistics Report (United States) and is presented here today for your reference.
The first graph shows what your life expectancy is depending on your current age. As you can see if you are a 30 year old male then on average you will live for another 46 years. However a female of the same age would live for another 50 years. This life expectancy difference between the genders shortens considerably the older you are.
Examining the difference between races we can see that Caucasians predominately have a longer life expectancy compared to African Americans. Interestingly though after 84 years of age African Americans can expect to live longer.
The following graph summarizes this information by showing the differences between male/female and Caucasian/African American life expectancy. There are many reasons why such differences exist. Genetic, biological, social and economic factors all contribute to your final life expectancy.
